Bond receipt paper is non-thermal paper commonly used in impact printers. Unlike direct thermal paper, bond paper does not react to heat. The printer physically strikes an ink ribbon against the paper to create the printed image.
1-ply bond paper produces one printed copy. 2-ply carbonless paper produces two copies from the same print job. Supply Chef's 2-ply rolls use a white top sheet and a canary/yellow second sheet.
Choose 1-ply when you only need one printed kitchen ticket or receipt. Choose 2-ply when you need two copies of the same ticket, such as one copy for the kitchen and another for expo, management, records, or another station.
2-ply white/canary paper contains two layers. The printer creates the original on the white top sheet while pressure transfers the same information to the canary/yellow second sheet. This creates two copies without using traditional loose carbon paper.
Yes. Bond and carbonless rolls are intended for impact printers that use an ink ribbon. The printer strikes the ribbon against the paper to create the image. This is different from direct thermal printing, which uses heat and requires no ribbon.
Many restaurant impact printers use approximately 3-inch-wide bond or carbonless rolls. Supply Chef's bond paper is suitable for many compatible impact printers, including common Epson TM-U220 configurations and certain Bixolon SRP-270 and SRP-275 models. Always verify your exact printer and media specifications before ordering.
Impact printers using bond paper are popular in restaurant kitchens because the printed image is made with ink rather than a heat-sensitive coating. This makes bond tickets well suited for hot kitchen environments where thermal paper may darken or become difficult to read when exposed to excessive heat.
Check the printer manufacturer and model number, then verify the required paper width, maximum roll diameter, ply count, and whether the printer supports multi-ply media. If you're unsure, send Supply Chef your printer make and model and we'll help identify the appropriate roll.
